With 1778km of coastline, the glistening sea provides an astonishing landscape. The old city of Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage site, definitely one that’s worth a visit with the camera. And try the understated city of Slavonia, a great place for a day on the bike.

The fashionable capital Zagreb is a must for boutique shopping, and if it’s souvenirs and jewellery you’re after try Dubrovnik. Take the train across Croatia to the vineyards of the Peljesac Peninsula, there you’ll find some of the country’s finest wine.

Eat & Drink

Croatia is proud of its homebrews, try the Ožujsko in Zagreb and the Riječko pivo from the large seaport city of Rijeka. The country is home to some of the finest seafood in Europe – don’t leave without visiting Volosko to sample it. Enjoy the Croatian prosciutto, prsut, with salty Pag cheese and homemade bread.
