    "Vienna - Venice Overnight"

     Cameron u.  03/05/2013
I was a passenger in my own sleeper coupe on the night train from Vienna to Venice on 23 April 2013. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to avoid the drudge of airport transfers, seemingly endless security queues and the ever-present threat of strike actions. The steward assigned to the coach was friendly, helpful and efficient. I was able to get a comfortable night's sleep, arriving in Italy refreshed and still with a full day ahead to enjoy. The 129 Euro first class ticket was absolutely worth it.    Value for money  Convenience

    "Disappointing"

     Beverley h.  06/03/2013
Firstly delivery of my tickets after online purchase was very efficient and convenient. However the trip itself was very disappointing and ended up costing me several hundred dollars extra. The train was late leaving Wien Meidling so that passengers were left standing in the freezing cold for more than 30 mins. I had been allocated a seat that was actually unavailable as the compartment was reserved for staff (2 male rail staff who joined the train some hours later). An attended let me in the locked compartment after I stood in the corridor for some time. Later (after midnight) I was woken up and spoken to harshly for being in the seat (that was on my ticket). I had to move to share a compartment with a young man (I am a middle aged female). I arrived in Firenze much too late to make the connection on the high speed train and was told by a rail employee to stay on the same [slow] train to Termini. Instead of arriving at 08:30 I arrived at about 11:05 am - too late to get to the airport for my flight to Australia departing at 12:25 pm. I had to re-book a later flight at considerable additional expense. Overall I have to say that the trip was very disappointing.    Comfort  Value for money  Convenience
