Scotland’s award-winning West Highland train line reveals some fascinating sites. The Scottish Highlands are a haven for outdoor adventure; visit Inverness by train for adrenalin pumping outdoor adventure including paintballing and watersports. Scotland is widely regarded as a golf haven, so take your kit and enjoy the spectacular views as you tee off.
Take Home
Anything tartan! Scotland is proud of its print, and it’s everywhere from ribbons, to blankets and of course the infamous kilt – that will get the folk back at home talking. Glasgow has Scotland’s best shopping, so for the latest fashions and trendiest boutiques hop on the CrossCountry train from Edinburgh, you’ll be there in just over an hour.

Tuck into a traditional Burns Supper of haggis, turnips and mashed potato in Ayr and sample Cullen Skink fish and potato soup in the East Neuk of Fife. Visit Islay to sample some of the world’s peatiest whiskies.

Why not go all out and climb Ben Nevis? The summit is a mere 1,344 metres (4,409 ft) above sea level – just a stroll in the park!
